Electronic Advance Data (EAD) is required for some destinations

To improve border control and security, we are required to digitally capture and transmit information for your items to the applicable international destination. This data includes the sender’s and receiver’s details and article contents. EAD must be sent to the customs officials in the destination country prior to your item arriving at the border.

EAD applies to any item requiring a customs form to be completed. This means all international parcels, International Courier letters and International Express letters sent to one of the destinations listed below will need EAD submitted.

Important note: If EAD has not been submitted in advance your item may be refused entry by customs officials in the destination country.

Information required for EAD

It's important all required information is completed on your customs form to generate complete EAD. This will ensure parcels aren't delayed or returned due to incomplete information.

EAD requires:

  • sender’s details, including full name, address and one contact method (email address or phone number)
  • receiver’s details, including full name, address and one contact method (email address or phone number)
  • article details
  • HS tariff code
  • goods value
  • country of origin
  • importer reference number/ID (if applicable).
