Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSF)

Our SMSF Message Gateway Service is an end-point gateway service for all electronic messages from employers and other superannuation funds. The service is designed to meet the ATO's Superstream 3.0 electronic data message requirements for gateways.

If you are subscribed to the SMSF Gateway Service, your licence will enable you to receive superannuation transaction messages and provide a customer portal to enable rollover functionality in compliance with the SuperStream 3.0 requirements.

As an SMSF trustee, you will need to inform your employer of your nominated endpoint as provided by the SMSF Gateway Service.

Once provided to your employer, the service will deliver superannuation transaction messages via a secure electronic distribution network to your nominated email address.

SuperStream is a set of government reforms, designed to improve the ‘back office’ administration of everyday superannuation transactions.

From 1 Oct 2021, all trustees of SMSFs must comply with the SuperStream 3.0 data and e-commerce standard. This means that employers will be able to send superannuation contributions and data to multiple funds in one standard electronic format, instead of sending information to separate funds in multiple formats.

As a trustee of an SMSF, you need to ensure you can receive electronic messages in accordance with the new standard from your employer.
