With Tap to Pay on iPhone and the Tyro BYO App you can accept in-person contactless payments (see Tyro BYO App payment types below) on your iPhone — from physical debit and credit cards to Apple Pay and other digital wallets — no extra hardware needed. It’s easy, with security and privacy built in.

Once you have been approved by Tyro as a customer, to use Tap to Pay on iPhone simply download the Tyro BYO App and start accepting contactless payments (see Tyro BYO App payment types above) in more places —right on your iPhone.

The following offer (Offer) is currently available to Australia Post referred customers who acquire an eligible Tyro EFTPOS solution on a simple pricing structure from Tyro Payments Limited (ABN 49 103 575 042) (Tyro):

  • 1.4% (incl. GST) transaction fee (Fee)
  • $15,000 worth of fee-free transactions.

The Offer only applies once per new Tyro customer, but does not apply to eCommerce transactions.  The Offer and terminal rental (if relevant) are subject to your reasonable use, and your use will be deemed unreasonable by Tyro in its absolute discretion if it is (a) contrary to the way that the Offer was intended to be used or (b) otherwise unacceptable. 

The Fee is subject to change in accordance with the Tyro Terms & Conditions and excludes Diners Club card transactions and MOTO fees. Additional fees and charges apply as set out in the Tyro Application Form and Terms & Conditions.

Tyro and Telstra reserve the right to withdraw or extend this Offer at any time, at their discretion. If the Offer is withdrawn, the Offer will be honoured in respect of all fully completed applications received by Tyro from Australia Post  customers before the Offer is withdrawn.

Tyro Go EFTPOS reader

Tyro Go EFTPOS reader requires a Bluetooth-enabled mobile device or tablet, the Tyro Go App to be installed, and mobile network coverage. Check Google Play & App Store for the latest OS compatibility requirements.

Tap to Pay on iPhone and Tyro BYO App

Tap to Pay on iPhone requires iPhone XS or later running iOS 16.4 or later via the Tyro BYO App. Some contactless cards may not be accepted by the Tyro BYO App. The Contactless Symbol is a trademark owned by and used with permission of EMVCo, LLC. For more details, see https://developer.apple.com/tap-to-pay/. The Tyro BYO App requires mobile connectivity for use.

Tyro Pro

Tyro Pro requires a WiFi connection or mobile network coverage for use. A monthly rental fee applies (currently $29 per month) and is subject to change.
