Please note organisations must be nominated by an Australia Post Team Member to be considered for the program. Once successfully nominated, the Australia Post Grants Team will reach out to nominated organisations with details on how to apply.

Not-for-profit organisations working to make a difference in their community through projects that align with Australia Post’s Community focus areas may be eligible for nomination. Read the 2025 People of Post Grants Guidelines (PDF 19.6MB) for full eligibility criteria.

Projects funded in 2024

Focus area: Indigenous children’s literacy and learning

Organisation: Yalari Foundation Limited

Project Title: Student Technology Support

Nominated by: Fiona Healy, Australia Post team member

Reason for nomination: “I discovered this charity when I purchased Yarnn toilet paper, which donates 50% of the profit from sales towards Yalari, a not-for-profit focussing on education for First Nations Children.”

How the grant supported the community: The grant , “supported four young Indigenous children from remote and regional communities on the Yalari program with a digital device. This has given them the tools they need to complete school assignments, participate in online classes, and access educational resources that are crucial for their academic success. These students now have equitable opportunities with their peers, enabling them to pursue their education with confidence.”

Focus area: Environment and sustainability

Organisation: Croxton Community Garden Inc / Marra Guwiyap Community Garden

Project Title: Additional garden beds

Nominated by: Adam Clifford, Australia Post team member

Reason for nomination: "The local community garden supports the community growing food, ecosustainability, sharing activities, fun and learning together giving back fresh organic locally grown produce to its volunteers."

How the grant supported the community: “We now have four additional wicking beds which are the most water efficient option for raised beds.”

Organisation: Koroit Fire Brigade

Project Title: Handheld radios

Nominated by: Darcy Giblin, Australia Post team member

Reason for nomination: “The Koroit CFA provide a wide coverage of support not only in regard to fires but also helping out the local schools, clubs and other events within the area.”

How the grant supported the community: “"Handheld radios are currently being used by Koroit Fire Brigade members at roadside burns, turnouts and training”

Focus area: Mental health

Organisation: Probus Club of Waterloo Bay Inc

Project Title: Connection bus 

Nominated by: Alyson Giles, Australia Post team member

Reason for nomination: This organisation is about “keeping members of their club social and out and about in the community as they are prone to isolation. This club wants to be able to arrange outings so their members can leave their homes and be able to travel safely.”

How the grant supported the community: This grant was able to “provide two-day tours by coach to different locations in Queensland. These tours provided an opportunity for the members to socially interact and provide some fun, fellowship and friendship”.
